The Opak River in Tambora West Jakarta suffers significant shallowing. This condition often cause surrounding areas inundated.

Heri Susanto, citizen of RT 11/01 Tambora Urban Village, Tambora, West Jakarta, said the river was dredged 7 years ago. There is no dredging for the river until now.

"The citizens hoped the river is dredged immediately for their health," he said.
Head of Tambora Sub-district, Yunus Burhan, explained his side will coordinate with West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Water Management for Public Works. "Opak River will be normalized after Krukut River. This is included in JEDI project namely river normalization. Inspection road along Opak River will be also improved," he explained.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Reservoir and River Normalization Coordinator, Heryanto, admitted his side has proposed dredging in 2015.
